Jungle Communications is happy to congratulate Attorney Kristen Taormina, of Buttafuoco & Associates, PLCC., for being selected as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers’ organization. The honor is a recognition of the most qualified attorneys under the age of 40 from each state. In order to be selected you have to demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and public profile as measured by objective and uniformly applied standards in compliance with state bar and national Rule 4-7.
A Family Business
For Kristen, practicing law and defending hardworking individuals and families against insurance companies and corporate interests is a family vocation. Her father, Dan Buttafuoco, founded the law firm in 1981, and her earliest formative years were guided by his dedication to fairness and high standards of ethical commitment.
“I think I have a strong maternal instinct which helps me care for my clients. People are coming in at the worst times of their lives – they’re broken, hurting, and confused and don’t know what to do. I’m there to take over and give them peace.”
She credits her faith in God for the strength and firm moral compass she brings to her work and life. She’s been on five mission trips around the world, raising funds, building homes, churches and schools for those in need. On top of that, for 16 years she ran a children’s summer camp that ministered to thousands of community children.
In addition to her demanding work schedule, Kristen is herself a busy parent now, as the mother of very active 7-year-old triplets.
Kristen graduated with honors in 2007 with a Juris Doctor degree from Touro College – Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in Central Islip, NY. She graduated cum laude and earned her undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Studies from her father’s alma mater, Hofstra University. She was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 2008.
